Calling all stock judging enthusiasts
May 3, 2007
Stock judging enthusiasts will have the opportunity to test their skills at NSA North Sheep 2007, the northern region's biennial one day event to be staged on Wednesday, 6 June at North Hanging Wells, Eastgate in Weardale, Bishop Auckland, County Durham by kind permission of M W Skidmore Ltd.

The 15th technical event of its kind, plans are well in advance to build on its previous success to attract a crowd of more than 8,000 and 200 trade stands.

Competitors from throughout the UK are invited to enter the Intervet Stock Judging Competition with £450 at stake. The award which is split in three sectors for under 18 years, ladies and gents, will feature three classes to judge: prime lambs, Swaledale gimmer lambs and Bluefaced Leicester ewes. Competitors will be able to make their entry on the day.

The overall winner will be presented with a galvanized lamb weigher sponsored by David Ritchie (Implements). All entry fees will be donated towards the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Event organiser, Julie Sedgewick comments: "Following on from the stock judging staged at previous NSA organized events which have attracted literally hundreds of entries, we are optimistic this competition will attract another turnout of enthusiasts who will also be contributing towards a very worthy cause."
